God’s Unlimited Power For Us

Today’s Bible Verses:
Ephesians 3:20-21
ESV

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

These verses in Ephesians powerfully remind us of God's limitless ability and His desire to work in and through us. When we pray to God, we often bring our limited requests and hopes constrained by our finite understanding of life. But God's power is not bound by our limitations. He can do “abundantly” more than we can even fathom.

We pray to God with our small requests, unaware of His abundant blessings in store for us.

This passage also emphasizes that God's power is not just some distant force but "at work within us." The Holy Spirit connects us to the very source of all power and creativity. God desires to use it to carry out His will and bring His kingdom to earth.

As Lutherans, we believe in the priesthood of all believers. This means that we have a unique role in God's plan. We are called to use our gifts and talents to serve others and share the love of Christ with the world. When we do this, we participate in God's grand design, and He receives the glory.

Let us not be afraid to dream big and ask God for great things. Let us also be open to the unexpected ways God may answer our prayers. And above all, let us give glory to God, who can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.

PRAYERS

Keep in Your Prayers:

  1. All people dealing with cancer

  2. Those who reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

A Prayer for Today:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your limitless power and Your desire to work in and through us. Help me trust in Your ability to do immeasurably more than I can imagine. Empower me by Your Spirit to carry out Your will and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Luther’s Morning Prayer:

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.

Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
