Upheld By God

Today’s Verse:
Isaiah 41:10
ESV

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

On Wednesday, I was in the waiting area of the cancer center, watching people walk in. So many of us had the worried look on our faces. Often, in the prayers in church, I tend to focus on the world’s overwhelming problems. Yet the personal issues people face are all too consuming. We fear that we’re alone in dealing with the overwhelming burden of the fallen world. It is like everything is on our shoulders. But guess what? We are not alone! God has a message of comfort and strength for us, straight from Isaiah 41:10.

God doesn’t promise a life without trouble, but He says He’ll be with us. “Fear not, for I am with you” reminds us we’re never alone. Our Lord walks alongside us, no matter how dark the road gets.

He’s not just there, though. He’s also actively involved in our lives. He helps us when we’re weak, supports us when we stumble, and keeps us going when we can’t stand alone. This isn’t because we’re good or strong enough, but because of His righteousness and faithfulness.

This promise is the most amazing thing ever! Through Christ, God took on our burdens on the cross. He saved us from eternal death and made sure we’re always supported by His grace. When we’re struggling, we can trust that His righteous right hand is holding us tight.

So, remember, no matter what challenges you’re facing, God is with you. He’s strengthening, helping, and supporting you. Hold on to His promises and trust in His unwavering love.

Prayers

A Prayer for Today:

Gracious Father, thank You for Your promise to uphold us with Your righteous right hand. Please help us remember this promise when we are afraid or discouraged. Please give us the strength to trust in you, even when we cannot feel your presence. IN Jesus name, we pray, Amen.

Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Luther’s Morning Prayer:

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
